The people of Cambodia where decimated by the Khumer Rouge regime, which promoted enforced starvation, mass executions, slave labour and wholesale dislocation to such a degree that the social moral and economic fibre of the country was left in tatters.

So many died only one in eighty Cambodians today have a gran parent, 60% of children suffer from malnutrician, one in every 236 people is an amputee due to land mines. 20% of males and 25% of females are illiterate.

Cambodia is one of the poorest countries in the world, most people just surviving on only $1 dollar a day, yet it is only 90 minutes by air from Singapore.

The destruction of Cambodia has happened in the lifetime of most Australians. The last of the Khumer Rouge did not disapear till 1998. This horror occured while the world looked the other way.

                 WHY CAMBODIA...........WHY NOT!
